|a) Mathematics and Physics are tested by two written examinations in English. Each of the subjects is tested in one hour, respectively. The mathematics test mainly consists of linear algebra, differential and integral calculus, differential equations and theory of complex functions. Physics test mainly asks about statics and dynamics.
b) Special subjects of Mechanical Engineering or Systems and Control Engineering
are orally tested in English. Each applicant is asked mainly about the
special subject closely related to his/her intended academic supervisor's
specialty. Basic knowledge about other special subjects is also tested.
c) Proficiency of English is evaluated by a TOEFL (either iBT or PBT), TOEIC or IELTS (Academic Module) score, for an applicant who is from non-English-speaking country and who did/will NOT graduate from a university in native English-speaking country. An original certificate of the TOEIC/TOEFL score should be submitted as one of the application documents.
d) Graduates from universities in native English-speaking countries are not required to submit such a score. However, such applicants are required to inform their intended academic supervisors the fact with the certificate in advance.
